FAQ's
Q. Can I just order the plant by itself without the pottery?
A. Yes. You have the option to order just the plant and put it in your own pot as long as your container has the capability to hold water.
Q. Can my Lava Rock Plant live in cold climates??
A. Yes. As long as it is kept indoors and not outside in the cold. Please remember your Lava Plant is a living plant so it needs some sort of sunlight.
Q. What does it mean when my Lava rock starts to turn white?
A. Typically it means there is too much salt in your water. In order to insure your plant does not die you will need to immediately switch to using bottled water (recommended) and gently wash the rock making sure not to damage the roots.
Q. Will my Lava Plant re-bloom?
A. Chances are good if you fertilize lightly on a bi-weekly schedule (as directed on your care instructions). Although it is not a guarantee. There are many factors to the survival of your plant…such as (sunlight & water)
Q. If I have a water softener is it okay to use this water?
A. NO. Water softeners use salt to purify the water, which will cause the plant to die.
Q. Should I only use bottled water to water my plant?
A. Yes. That or rainwater is best.
Q. How long will my Lava Plant Last?
A. Depending on the key elements such as (sunlight, fertilizer, water, climate) your Lava Plant can last for months.
Q. How much and how often should I fertilize my Lava Plant?
A. Bi-Weekly – one drop of liquid fertilizer to one 16-17oz of bottled water is recommended.
Q. Where do Lava Plants come from?
A. They are unique to Hawaii and can only be found there.
Q. Where does HauLava ship to?
A. HauLava ships anywhere in the U.S. with the exception of Hawaii & Alaska.
Q. Do HauLava Plants make good gifts?
A. Absolutely because they are so rare and hard to find people are amazed that they exist.
